What I learned about Wisdom

It's been a while.  I got sort of distracted by life and haven't posted in a while.  I lost my best friend and I was hurting.  Oh well, I am here to share my thoughts now if anybody out there is reading!  And if not, that's ok too!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So what did I learn about Wisdom?  Well, it's definitely not what I expected.
First of all, wisdom cannot be taught.  It really boils down to: Do you have a love for the truth or don't you??
If you have a love for the truth, and a heart of obedience, wisdom will be imparted unto you!

"The fear of YHVH is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction."  Proverbs 1:7

Wisdom is always available, but so few crave it.

"Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice;  at the head of the noisy streets she cries out;  at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:  How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?  How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?  If you turn at my reproof, behold I will pour out my spirit to you;  I will make my words known to you."  Proverbs 1:20-23

In short, make up your mind.  Seriously.  Do you love the Father or don't you?  If so, then begin obeying him and searching out His truth.

  1. Carey, I think that sometimes it is not so much that some don't want wisdom or the truth...although there certainly are a lot of those people...but you also have to have a heart of obedience. This is a great problem for most as you have to consciously give up control to YHVH, to hand over everyone and everything literally, and it frightens people. It frightens me! But I also know to YHVH will lead, will protect, will honor my choice and give me the most precious thing...His approval.

  2. I agree, it is hard indeed. Especially since, as believers, we have been raised in the church of "all things have been redeemed". The raw concepts of obedience and repentance are rarely taught. It's more like "do what you FEEL is right". Pray about it and then do whatever you think is best.

  3. I like your thoughts on wisdom. Indeed wisdom is something that we should search for. To me wisdom is imparted by the father. Knowledge we can gain but wisdom how to apply this knowledge is where truth really hits the pavement. I think of Solomon asking God for wisdom, and it is in prayer and contemplation where I feel Gids wisdom speaks!
